Robert Wegenast(Budapest, May 6, 1930 - Budapest, November 22, 2019) was a Hungarian artist. He was a student of József Csáky Maronyák at the Art Free School. He studied graphic arts at the National School of Industrial Arts, and later transferred to the newly established faculty of stage arts.
His mentors were Gusztáv Oláh and Pál Miháltz.
His career started as a theatrical set designer at the Hungarian People's Army Theater (now the Vígszínház, and went on to work as the set designer at the Kaposvári Csíki Gergely Theater, the Egri Gárdonyi Géza Theater, the Miskolci National Theater, and the Budapest József Attila Theater, also worked as a guest designer at several theaters in the capital. From 1973 to 1990 he was the leading set designer for Hungarian Television.
As a set designer, he participated in the production of the popular international competition series Jeaux sans frontiers (Games without borders) which were broadcast between 1993 and 1999.
